I Gifted Him My Signature Accessory : A Smile

What's in a smile?
Well, a smile has an amazing curative power that can heal every wound. Making someone smile and brightening their day is one of the most generous things one can do. And when this smile is an innocent one coming from your li'l one, no other joy can fill your heart with the biggest contentment. After a new life is born out of your flesh, you strive to see him smile and the day when he gives you one for the first time becomes the most memorable day of your life. Almost subconsciously, you promise to yourself to give up everything in life to make his smile stick on his face forever and ever...

Quite often, I am burdened with my work commitments and do not get much time to devote to my family..oh! it hurts my li'l boy when he seeks my attention and finds me occupied with my assignments. I feel miserable to see him sad and disheartened, but barely can do any compromise in my work :(

Recently I brought some tasty McCain snacks home and handed over the packs to my boy who loves having crunchy eatables with his evening dose of milk.
I guess you all can imagine how this foodie could have felt holdingthis big pack of many variants of McCain Snacks.
Every single day is now a feast at my home. I feel its pretty easy thing to put a smile on someone face by serving him the food of his liking. I have been enjoying his naughty yet creative ideas on how to present his McCain snacks in different ways every time.
A variety of delicious seasoned chunks on his plate just make him go crazy..look at the mischief-monger ..
OMG!! It can't be tolerated that any of the McCain snacks' variants gets over coz how would he satiate the hungry monster hidden in his li'l tummy ;)
But mommy has the guts not to get your smile disappear from your face baby.. So here goes our McCain artistic creation to freshen up your mood :)
aww, the taste of these crispy snacks is as good as the love hidden in my hug or a kiss to my boy. A golden bite is here to make our life sunny and dictate another chapter of childhood stories with McCain :)

Watch this clip to know more about how to make McCain a reason of someone's smile :D

Rakhi Bhai Behan Ka Tyohaar

I may not say it always, but whenever I say I mean it ...
"The memories may fade with passing time, but the bond we share will only grow stronger.."

Writing for #selfiewithsibling contest by Jabong.com made me say above lines again to my bro.

The loving occasion of Raksha Bandhan is actually the best time to reminisce fondly those wonderful moments I have spent with my siblings. Because despite being many many years younger to me, he is the one who holds my lowered spirits in bad times. When I have a reason to smile and celebrate, I message him first of all and he is readily available to make it more meaningful.

But yes, we are no exception and can't end up without hate moments too. He is pissed off so easily when I comment something 'not likable' on his social accounts and he grumbles for having an 'interfering' elder sister.... He finds it irritating when I advise him not to be an impulsive buyer and make choices within specific budget.... He thinks I am old-fashioned if I'm offended seeing him clicked with female classmates...He puts a full-stop on our conversation saying "Not Again", when I wish to motivate him to give more time to studies and work harder... He gives me furious looks if I am spying on his phone...Gosh!! should I write all this here!! I know he won't spare me today after he reads this post but I actually wanna see his reaction ;) {Hope God is there to save me :P }

Even when life has led us along different paths now, we are always close looking out for each other (thanks to some awesome phone apps too) ... He really has the virtuosity to beautify my life. He laughs at my funny selfies, edits them making me look fairer and then asks me for a "Thank You" that I never say ;) He keeps me updated with latest technology hacks and makes sure the path I am travelling on as a blogger is smooth n guided. I know deep in my heart who will come to my rescue when no one offers me a helping hand.
Though I don't need an occasion to show my gratefulness to him but every moment of my life is a blessing to have a 'monster' around me who possesses a clear heart. Even if I searched the world over, there cannot be a better brother than him. And Raksha Bandhan is the day when we deserve clicking #selfiewithsibling and capturing one more such moment of happiness :)
I wish my bro all the happiness and loads of success through every side in his life!!

FEAR - Face Everything And Rise

Dad had met with an accident and got his legs badly injured. He had been bed ridden for many months. The helplessness of being dependent on others was written all over his face. Everyone in the family tried best to hide the sadness in hearts and pretended to be hopeful. My mom, the 'not-so-religious' kind of woman, in her deepest emotions committed to herself to pay her reverence to Nau Deviyaan at the holy shrines when dad recovers with all family members.

Time gradually passed and the day came when dad could get up and took another step forward on his weaker legs. Few more days of physiotherapy and he successfully borne his pain to be able to walk without any help :)

Mom wanted to fulfill her Mannat by visiting Nine Goddesses for their blessings. So the whole family started for the auspicious journey in the pleasant weather of October. Me as a teenage gal with my siblings took the whole episode as an adventurous as well as enjoyable trip to various destinations starting from Chamunda Devi, Kangra Devi, Jwalaji, Chintpurni Devi, Naina Devi, Kalika Devi, Shakumbhari Devi, Mansa Devi to Vaishno Devi.

This was the first time I had realized my fear of suffocation at Vaishno Devi when I found myself almost paralyzed outside the holy cave of Maa Vasihno Devi situated amidst the folds of the Trikuta Parbat. I felt dread of being inside the tight enclosed space without any opening for ventilation and could not dare to step in. Further continuous compelling by my parents to get in for Divine Darshans put me in tears and I puked right there. I could experience death-inducing fear under this panic attack of "what is there is no exit?" "what if there is a stampede?", "what if I die in there?"...  and I got unconscious. My aunt suggested my parents to fulfill their Mannat and stayed with me until I regained my senses. I felt guilty of spoiling  her trip, but could not help it. That incident left me in a thinking process whether I had been getting through some physical trauma.....

This fear controlled my life for many years and escaped myself of situations wherever I could expect myself trapped in small spaces.... But like all of us Earthlings, I wanted to live fearless and had the willingness to deal with darkest of fears coz I could not imagine myself as a brain-dead being... Without letting my mouth utter a word to others, I started working upon minimizing the exaggerated sensations in my mind that arose out of scariest feeling of suffocation.  Though it was harder to convince myself that my plan is succeeding when I had no idea how long I’ll have to keep trudging along before some meaningful change comes my way.

I remember my intentional entries within subways, rooms with least space and lower ceiling and over crowded public place so that I might ensure that my 'fear-confronting' project worked to some extent. Slowly and gradually, my discomfort turned his back towards me and unhelpful situations got friendly with my inherit courage.
The darkest labelled 'FEAR' had gave my personality a new dimension to flip upside down the deadly panicky feelings. It was nothing but 'Fear' that became my life's survival mechanism. In those days of celebrating my victorious moments, I came across this line that read --

"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going"

I'm a firm believer of this fact now that when life leaves you with no choices, then only YOU tear off the veils of non-existing fears and blow the drums of winning over the situations. I take pleasure to give my 'FEAR' that much-deserved credibility of making me confident and mettlesome. :) The similar idea is depicted in this Mountain Dew film.

I'm proud to #RiseAboveFear and whats your story all about!!

I Have Learnt To Live With Pride Now

I flip back a chapter of my life today to tell you the story of a low-confidence gal. I was not the same confident personality by birth. By the grace of God, I was blessed with physical fitness, but still I had a negative image of myself in my mind. This is the first time that I am openly accepting the fact that most of the time I used to refrain myself from doing a thing just because I had a sound echoing in my subconscious mind "I cannot excel in this and its not meant for me.." The constant feeling of comparing myself with everyone else in a negative way and then putting myself low had become a psychological stress that I was battling with ...This silent disease of my thoughts caused low self-esteem in me which in turn hindered my academic and social functioning to a greater extent (for which I am actually repenting till date).

Though its my only public confession here, it doesn't mean that nobody could notice my behavioural pattern that time. I never knew that I was under the scanner of those observant eyes most of the time; the eyes of a affectionate and concerned dad. I heard my dad talking about of challenges of his early life and the trial-plus-success instances he had undergone. It was his way of injecting the fuel of self-assurance in me to keep me high-spirited. He prompted me to engage myself in activities in which I had been more proficient at home as well as school and neighbourhood so that a sense of achievement pierce in me to blow away my apprehensions. He himself acted in the best possible manner to make me learn new things by imitating him and also taught me to learn from mistakes, admit my weaknesses and work on them to turn them into my strengths. There were incidents when teachers, friends and family members noticed remarkable changes in my attitude towards life.

The struggle had not ended so easily, because stepping in adolescence gave me yet another reason to confine myself due to my fright of interacting with opposite gender. Dad was still there with his courageous words and practical advice for raising me into a confident person. As a trustworthy friend, he portrayed in front of me, an image of a girl who deserves all good things and can succeed in life without merciful advantages in her baggage. He demonstrated the appropriate manner to express myself and cautioned me not to explode with whatever is stuffed in my head-n-heart without striking a balance between various factors underlying in the situation. As some more maturity set in my personality, I eventually was able to open the tight lid suffocating my inner self and emerged as a well-behaved, bubbling with energy, brimming with confidence and responsible woman attributed to win over the toughest hurdles and living life without being dependent on others.

The person whom you see in the pic below is the one who deserves the title of my Motivational Guru and so I take privilege to voice my feelings for #MyFamilyMyPride that -

"Apno Ko Apne Dum Par Jeena Sikhao,

Aur Duniya Ke Liye Misaal Ban Jao"
I hope many of you would be able to relate to my story.. but don't forget to watch this touching video by HDFCLife of a lovely dad-daughter duo like me n my dad :) :)

How to Feel Worthy of A Relationship

In life, when we are thrown together with someone by the circumstances of our lives, it forms a 'Relationship'. Many a times, these relationships include not only the people for whom we have a particular attraction, love or liking; but also the people we generally dislike, avoid interacting, ignore meeting, or even hate to have them in life. Still there is a moral responsibility of behaving sensibly to maintain the relationships without grumbling.

If I talk about myself, I consider myself one of the richest person in the universe to have most caring people in my life. All my primary relationship (mainly family oriented) are so intensely knitted together that one cannot think of seeing a single yarn separately.

Sometimes, I meet people who feel themselves misfit for a relationship and are hurting n cursing themselves. This is how you may realize your importance in somebody's life...

* When people around you are not friendly, affable or decent to you; I advise you not to feel frustrated but think that there is always a room for improvement. Until you are on the verge of extreme tolerance, try to settle your anguish than to be lonely. Because isolation is a disease in itself.

* Remind yourself again and again "I deserve your respect, your friendship, your devotion and your commitment; because I am worth it." And then also feel exactly the same, because when you feed yourself with positive thoughts like these then only you can ensure self-acceptance.

*Dump the fear of rejection from your heart. You are not an article to be measured up to assess your value. Start believing that there is no suspicion about being recognized for your strengths.

I always convince myself that I am a person with some flaws that I need to work upon, but have lot many positive behavioural traits that make me feel beautiful and confident of remaining happy in privileged relationships like being a daughter, a wife, a mother,a sister, a teacher and ofcourse a loyal friend.

I strongly believe in the Law of Attraction that can make magical things happen to you that you never expected. Feel yourself worth of every beautiful experience in your relationships and your destiny might change for better :)

What Keeps My Baby Happy

Babies are those cute humans who need to be entertained in really stimulating (and at times, weird) ways to keep them truly happy. When it comes to the critical discussion on 'what makes my child happy', not every baby appreciates his/her involvement in same activities.

But the one thing on which every mom/parent would agree that when a baby is playing happily is a sign that he had his stomach-full of baby food and is not uncomfortable in a heavily wet diaper. I actually don't feel alarmed when he eats less than other babies of his age, because I notice that he himself shows signs of requesting for food whenever he is feeling hungry. So I make a point not to pressurize him eating as per my wish. My baby enjoys being fed the salty food with a little variation after few days and creates no fuss even while tasting new ingredients in his food. But I love his expressions when he makes funny faces as he tastes the first spoonful of that newly experimented food ;)

My naughty baby feels so happy when he is given the things which is not usually allowed to play with. He wants me to make him sit on his padded bedding in a corner of the kitchen where I am cooking and enjoys giving everyone headache by banging on a plate with a spoon and experience different sounds. He feels himself no less than a maestro creating symphony of love ;) ha ha ha. At times, he is caught executing his most notorious planning into an action in absence of all of us in the room.

At the end of the day, when its time for papa to reach home. He wants to welcome papa at the door, so gives me every possible hint to open the door and take a mini tour of the outside the realm of his nursery to experience interesting colorful things and people around. There is a whole hearted contentment on my junior's innocent face when papa wears this lil boy craving for physical touch close to his heart in his baby carrier. Its a moment of sheer pride to find everyone so happy and blessed in each other's company.

One sure shot way to make my baby happy is to show him soap bubbles going up in the air in his dim lit room with colored lights. He grins baring his invisible teeth seeing the bubbles grow when the lights are reflected from different angles and I adore that toothless smile of my bundle of joy.. touch wood to his happiness!!

My baby loves to react and reciprocate on Imitation Sound Game with me, when I show him a plastic toy or soft toy and make funny faces with sound of different birds and animals. He is damn focused at that time and imitates me exactly. Not only happiness is our mantra this moment, but I feel great satisfaction introducing some educational values in him :)

Exhausted from whole day's fun activities, when me and my boy are feeling low in energy and need a sound sleep; the last thing to ensure my baby's happiness during his sleep is a clean nappy. Because I don't want to cause him & myself surprise night awakenings due to excess wetting of his nappy. It a blessing in disguise that Pampers Baby Dry Pants ensures overnight dryness for my baby on the inside layer by using Magic Gel technology to lock in the moisture for 12 hours and promises freedom from sleep disturbances always.
I am loving this sweet baby momma duo in Pampers Baby Dry Pants advert ...

My Baby's Bedtime Rituals

Motherhood is a divine feeling composed of a spectrum of incomparable emotions. Every mother shares the strongest and most enjoyable bond with her child. Life changes completely when a woman has her baby. And this is the joy that can never come from materialistic things.
When I became a mother, I remained nervous n confused most of the time, thinking whether I am doing something right or wrong. The most worrisome situation was when my baby didn't sleep through the night. Though I myself didn't feel any problem baby nursing at night. Neither I felt like making a sacrifice having those sleepless night, but I was concerned to develop proper bedtime routine for him like most healthy babies do have. I was determined to find some good night sleep solutions for my child to make him sleep peacefully and finally in few weeks managed to set a sleep routine that is continued till date.
My child's bedtime routine is a short n simple one that works just the right for him... We start a bit early in the evening to have enough time to get through all the planned activities.
Light Meals before going to bed... I had set a fixed feeding time for my baby since very initial months of his birth and gradually stretched the time interval between his meals as he grew older. Even in his pre-schooling days now, he eats relatively less in the night. At least hunger has never become an interference in his peaceful sleep.
Half an hour playtime with some indoor props like puzzles, block building, hide n seek or similar ones entertains him and strengthens mom-child duo bond.
Night Bath & Massage The sleep-routine of my child doesn't restrict us only to the bedroom, but actually expands its reach to our washroom too. The moment my son is tired of day-long fun-packed activities in & out of house and is feeling low in energy, it calls for a soak-time. As true for most children, splashing some warm water all over the body during the night bath is a soothing experience for the child and is sleep-inducer too. I generally take fresh water for summers bath.
A diaper change is a must every night before making him put on a clean pair of funky printed comfortable pajama set which is actually a clear signal to him to slip in his bed.
I have always avoided 'middle-of-the-night' diaper change that can wake him up right. Rather I always relied on the trusted name in diapers i.e Pampers which tackles my concern efficiently. Infact, to all new moms, I would recommend easy-to-pull (up n down) Pampers Baby Dry Pants that is designed with Magic Gel technology to lock in the heaviest wetness instantly and ensure overnight dryness to your baby's skin, thereby providing fresher morning next day.
I love to sit along with my baby in his bed at the end of the day snuggling up with some story books to read. As the mood might change, then my boy likes keeping classic story books aside but does some coloring or drawing sitting near me.
Occasionally, he asks me for a brief gentle massage on his legs and I don't mind giving a magical touch to smoothen his delicate skin with a good quality non-aromatic baby lotion which tends to make my baby relax and sleep easily with a smile on his face :)
Frankly, I have never experimented with any music being played in the night, may be because my boy loves to hear me singing in my own voice touching his soul for a quiet deep slumber.
Lastly, he drifts himself to dreamland while sharing a light hearted chat in my cozy hug after bidding goodnight to 'Chanda Mama' & reciting a small prayer to Almighty thanking Him for His blessings. A good night kiss on his forehead is my way to tell him how much he is loved :)

Raho Befikar Umar Bhar With IDBI Federal Life Insurance

In answer to a question that I asked from myself today "What would I be doing and how would I be living, if there is nothing to hold me back...", I could record a number of life scenarios. These are the life scenarios where one or the other resource was lacking and stopped me from making my life fulfilling to certain extent.
When I watched the elderly person in this IDBI Federal Life Insurance advert, I knew how important is that to be financially secure to realize your dreams into reality and remain #BefikarUmarBhar.
There are some unrealized dreams that I would love to clinch if there is no constraint...

Firstly, I want to restore my educational and professional state. Like all parents, my parents also wanted my education to be free of all kinds of hiccups. Everything worked fine other than cash-crunch :( Inspite of being a brilliant student, I could not go that extra mile and completed my Masters degree coping with utmost financial problems.
I would feel blissful to paddle back to repair my disfigured education and thereby strengthen my career aspects to grab brighter avenues.
                                                               *****
Secondly, I would love to spend lavishly for self-care & health care without worrying for limited money in my wallet. Always keeping a careful eye on my own expenditure, the first thing that I found irrelevant to spend on is my personal grooming and health care. (I know most of you will find it really foolish of me.)
So given access to unlimited funds, I wish to put a check on the my frequent health issues and ultimately want to ensure sound health by undergoing regular medical care sessions at reputed medical institutes of the town.
                                                               *****
Next important thing that comes to my mind is being a proud owner of own house. I have experienced (and infact still experiencing) the worrisome situations when you need to roll on the bag-baggage and seek another apartment within allotted time frame :(
I genuinely long for more stability and security of staying at one place i.e at my own house raising my family without any insecurities. If I am richer by that amount to jump out of lifetime-rented-accommodation situation, I believe my stress level will dip considerably.
                                                               *****
Yet another dream that is still unrealized is to kick away all the worries and prioritize pleasure in life. I am dreaming of indulging in leisurely and adventurous activities over to European destinations. How exciting will that be to bring out some passion to life and discover our planet with eyes wide opened :) I genuinely wish to see massive smiles on the faces of my family members when we all feel dazzled by beauty of the world around.
                                                               *****
Last but not the least, the one thing for which I can even forego everything mentioned above in my wishlist, is to procure a seat for my son's higher education in some foreign university where he can specialize in Automobile Design. Because if he will pursue his passion with real zest and will get bonafide guidance, he is destined to a successful life and will remain #BefikarUmarBhar.
                                                               *****
IDBI Federal Life Insurance can definitely help me grow with my dreams with its promising plans. And if you too need reasons to make your choices, look for some convincing reasons here.

The Great Indian Litterbug on Chandigarh Darshan

Recently I came across TOI's social campaign 'The Great Indian Litterbug'.
I just went through the interesting posts on the link http://greatindian.timesofindia.com/ that evoked my feelings for the cause. Like most of us, I am no exception to criticize of unhygienic surroundings in day to day life when I come across litter being thrown here n there, but the 'The Great Indian Litterbug' campaign made me question my own role in creating similar conditions. The thought-provoking message is being spread in the most viable manner to make general public relate to it. Atleast, it made me feel conscientious for being a guilty at one or the other moment in my life. So today I am geared up to bring forward my edition of 'The Great Indian Litterbug on Chandigarh Darshan' ...

Tower On Flower
The Rose festival is one of the prime event of Chandigarh every year. Lakhs of visitors including myself await to be a part of the mesmerizing showcase of variety of roses at Rose Garden. The tall masculine-built fellow enjoying sunny day reaches carrying his backpack packed with dozens of bananas, multiple soy-milk cartons. Seems like a big  gym freak, following strict diet instructions of his instructor ;) Despite being threatened by the gardeners, carelessly tramples the flower beds just because he can enjoy better sunlight at certain place n frowns at the gardener littering the garden with banana peels n empty cartons turning the sweet fragrance of roses into delectable fruity aroma.

When I am not able to bear the scenario, I stand up from there and walk onwards to enjoy the pleasant weather and colorful bounty of roses. My son is full of curious questions about names, colors n sizes of the lovely flowers which are enveloping us in a heavenly feel; when the little boy suddenly slips over a disposable plate lying nearby. As I tur around, it is more of a jaw dropping scene :/

Cheesy Teasy
A family having gala time celebrating their baby's birthday with their friends or relatives. The eatables being served generously to each of them in larger portions. Most of them unable to finish their snacks are just placing the left-over stuff very decently with a smile on the faces, and giving an open invitation to crows ;) The paper plates, water bottles, crumpled napkins instantly become the deserving center-of-attraction for all. And why not, we are sophisticated enough ...

Moving ahead with a sorry note, I am about to sit down on a marbled bench to relax myself; when I realize myself stepping on something unusual...

Crunchy Munchy
My foot gets rooted in a virtual sea of neatly spilled peanuts. With strange expressions on my face I look around. A group of teenager boys winking at each other and giving a mysterious look to me. Worse than that, I feel heart-broken to see the bits n pieces of paper, polythene bags n other trash material carelessly tossed between the beautifully-laid flowerbeds.

The litterbugs are not micro-bugs hidden secretly, rather they are seen with bare eyes. Where did you find them..tell me na !!

The Things That Define Me & Refine Me

Usually I carefully look for right words to talk about and talk to a third person. But today, I'm hunting for something more pertinent for defining myself coz Gillette Venus asks me to encompass things that constitute me & my personality. Sounds like an unusual practice you see ;) But I am grown up enough to know myself and acknowledge 'who am I'...
In my formal study days, I always wanted to score nothing less than the Highest in academics. I used to feel terribly inferior & cry hysterically if ever failed to excel in co-scholastic performances :( Mom still remembers the tough time she had handling my tantrums year by year. Life has changed all the way in past years, but I feel pretty much similar even today. But yeah! there is something I have worked upon... and it is the way how to control my emotions. I have ended up becoming a calm persona most of the times who is not willing to counter-attack the person looped in the matter. I'm not much of a complicated personality. I may let go many Bigger issues when you expect me to react, but Nah! I can't behave YOGIC at all the time living in ruthless society, so expect me to blast at times when you cross your limits !!

I never believed in the philosophy of making the First Good Impression, coz leaving a lasting impression takes time and gives you countless reasons to prove your worth. I have met people in my life who apparently impressed me with their smart wit, caring attitude n thoughtfulness; but could not stood by when the circumstances asked them to be there :/ From such experiences, I grew up learning to supress my aggression and value true feelings of my loved ones :)

Talking about what I love to do, its a long list that makes me who am I. I am an admirer of Art & Literature in any form. Infact I always wished to earn a degree in English Literature but it is still on my wish list only ;) I have made an attempt to transform my talent of writing into my passion via this blog and happy to see make it work :) I enjoy company of like-minded people and don't mind them speaking their heart out, but definitely flush out those who mercilessly destroy the relationships by bitching n envious feelings. So I am really SELECTIVE about whom to call FRIENDS & get close to ... I am always ready to fight for my fair share of happiness, liberty, choices and undoubtedly my rights at personal or professional spheres. I hate being DISLIKED as we all do, but I am still determined NOT to compromise in my 'Values' to please everyone..

Still in the process to refine myself ....

No Silk On His Face

'TDH' had been the most frequently used cryptic code that me and my girly gang used to whisper as we see a chic fellow in college ;) Our interpretation of TDH was an attractive TALL, DARK, HANDSOME boys who used to rule over the hearts of girls and be the secret 'turn ons' for most females over there. Even few of the girls had the guts to put their lips together & whistle at those smarty stuff  singing loudly 'Chikni Surat Tu Kahan Tha Ab Talak Ye Bataa" and we used to have frequent good hearty laughter at purely delightful incidents :D Then came that geeky personality (sorry, can't name him here) with facial stubble and dark suspicious eyes to our class of under-graduates in the Final Year due to some migration issues.. The tough looking guy in his unshaven face and unkempt hair desperately needed a smooth shave. But somehow this was the most neglected aspect of his personality... Basking in the sun on a sunny winter day in our bunked period in the college, my friend had titled him 'Scarecrow' for his 'not-so-sassy' appearance ;) Other than these masti moments in our class n college, there were definitely serious curricular & co-curricular moments too... and there our Scarecrow proved his mettle. He had amazing ability to cope well with any demanding situation for which we usually needed time for makeup our mind & gather courage. Be it a Subject GD session, Stage Performance, Art or Drama; he mastered every skill with no scope of disapproval. Despite complaining about his unshaven & rough to touch face, all of the classmates including professors were spontaneously flattered to have him listen when he spoke in his commanding accent. Most of the classmates never tried to gel-well with the him and so he spent most of his time in his own type of research on varied assignments within college premises. On the day of bidding adieu to fond collegemates, the manly fellow showed his emotional side in his goodbye message "I don't spend too much time on my appearance, but a toned and muscly guy can be soft and cuddly too if someone tries to look beyond his stubble face. You could have earned a real loyal friend for lifetime if ever tried understanding me rather than fussing over how I looked like. but....." , his voice cracked as we all realized the lump in his throat didn't allow him to continue when he was overcame with emotions. That day changed my entire perspective towards assessing a person's worth which actually never relies on his smooth silky appearance.

Premarital Sex - Bad or Not So Bad

Ms. Poonam Uppal recently got her book A Passionaate Gospel of True Love : A Mystical True Love Story released (available for order on Flipkart here)and offered an opportunity to explore a wide range of opinions on the burning question to discuss "Premarital Sex - Yes or No".

Oh, don't take me wrong that I'm indulging everyone in a taboo subject openly. Infact, this is a real life question that is discussed behind the closed doors among majority of teens (or even adults) these days who may or may not be in its favour. But my intentions are to bring my personal beliefs on surface (whether anybody seconds me or not).

Many a times close friends, colleagues or mere strangers involve themselves physically to experience thrill, lust or just for the matter of timely satisfaction. There are occasions when these recurring relationships are advocated with the statements like "my partner is in deep love with me for 'n' number of years and we see ourselves together for lifetime, so how does it matter to have intercourse before or after marriage if we trust each other?"

Sexuality goes hand in hand with emotions, and I'm sure getting married can never guarantee a stronger emotional bonding with our partner... but the practices like dating & live-in relationships have sadly pushed the virtue of  Chastity go out of fashion :(

Most teens justify physical intimacy as an easy way to relate to each other; but trust, loyalty and purity occupy a secondary or inferior position as an outcome.

I won't confer about the possibilities what can really go wrong to the BODY of a person actively participating in premarital sex, but just will be compartmentalize my so called "conservative" thinking that defy physical adjacency of unmarried couples with cent-percent conviction.

Sex is not just a matter of casual recreation when we have uncountable choices for pleasure. The people vouching for premarital sex have their own philosophy to defend their view point until they are unmarried and suddenly they start expressing their "altogether different" viewpoint on the same topic just because they expect a VIRGIN spouse for themselves. How idiotic dual-standards they possess :/

Another alarming aspect is how many of such people honestly share their past history with their fiancé/fiancee and take it large-heartedly as they claimed while being entertained in their "romantic relationship". The most likely scenario is to see people move through number of sexual relationships seeking lasting satisfaction. No end of lust & no guilt of heart-breaking relationships -- is this what broadmindedness asks for??

I'm standing up for no support to any religious constraints on the issue, but for my conscience. Sex is the way for individuals to bind themselves in a total relationship that ultimately turns two people become a single loving unit for the rest of their lives. The inner contentment of not cohabiting is something that I feel proud upon, and I won't try being diplomatic at all to support pre-marital sex because being "one-flesh" with my legally n socially acceptable partner is my ONLY SUPREME choice forever.
Though its a matter of individual choice, the image above expresses my fair opinion to this debate exactly..

Fondest Vacation Memories From The Eyes of A Kid

I can't agree more with the quote that goes like --
'Families that take time to travel together will have stories to share for years to come.'

The fondest memories of my golden childhood are of those trips with my family that we took during summer vacations every year. Every trip had felt so far away when we counted days to leave for a new location every time and then every trip used to come and go so quickly. Every moment of those trips was like living a dream that met every expectations I had :)

Even now as a parent, when I go for the family trips; its an opportunity to relive the juncture that gave me immense pleasure in my olden days :)

Vacations teach kids important life lessons while spending quality time with their family. There is no arguments that kids bond with their family everyday, but do we realize how passionately we all sit together and have relaxed hearty chat !! The parents burdened-up for meeting their professional deadlines and the kids caught up with their curricular activities hardly get to convey their feelings to each other in normal routine ...

On the other hand, when we luxuriate on a trip with kids, there’s a touch of magic because there’s nothing more special that the kids cherish than One-to-One time with relaxed parents bcz they rarely get to see elders unwinding completely :)

Ask any kids n they will tell you how they feel unbelievably grateful for the family trips bcz it taught them some amazing things that they never expected to discover. It won't be hyperbolic if I say that the learning that goes in a short vacation is much more lasting than that they got in one whole academic session while schooling.
A fun moment captured at Tungabhadra dam during our Hampi Trip

Being one of the influential decision makers of the family, I hope n ensure to see every trip to fruition for my child specially. Bcz this is when he actually comes out of his shell, learns to share, being empathic and responsible overall.

My child has a special fantasy to jot down cute n humorous anecdotes of our trips in his scrap book or even draw incidents that took place on a specific day and then embellish those with our lovely pics to show to his classmates, friends and teachers. Its nothing less than a treasure for the innocent soul that gives him a sense of belonging.

Just like I cherish reading my child's expressions in his Memory Book, I think you would also love to read what other cute kids have to say when it comes to 'Vacation'. Follow the link & enjoy the heartwarming stories of Club Mahindra's Teddy Travelogue
Walking away for today, I couldn't be more thankful for each trip that brought the family members together for a reason and got us feel the warmth of a closely-knit family.

Goodbye Road Race, Goodbye Road Rage.

Life is traveled only once...Yes! I agree, but does it really call for making our journey an life-threatening adventure ??

Everyday while driving to n fro my way to work, willingly or unwillingly I become a silent spectator for the high drama being enacted at busy road intersections of traffic lights in absence of traffic cops... with drivers yelling and honking at their loudest; whizzing past each other opening the throttle fully through jam packed squares. This endemic disorder road race ends up in smashes on the center dividers, runovers, collisions and leaves the drivers as well as innocent commuters with multiple incurable injuries or even causes loss of lives :(

Is there a way out?? Yes. There always is one if we show willingness to act the way it is desired.

Nissan Safety Driving Forum (NSDF), an annual road safety program by The Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. is all dedicated to promote safe driving behaviour in India. This year NSDF has expanded its overall reach and engagement levels and now would reach 8 new cities viz. Jalandhar, Jaipur, Vadodara, Nagpur, Chennai, Mangalore, Kochi and my very own The City Beautiful Chandigarh.
NSDF 2014 covers more cities in India
NSDF encourages drivers and passengers to wear seatbelts, and participants learn the importance of wearing seatbelts through interactive activities. The live simulated experiences are also conducted to make the safety features functioning understood through a simulated car crash.

Nissan India's commitment to safety is based on great conviction about the need for caution and safety while on road. In hope to bring the much needed change in the mindset of the masses, Nissan publicize the campaign for you all to participate.

I'm hurt to see the roads becoming a theatre of maddening public behaviour with drivers becoming more n more reckless n intolerant. Don't you think that all it takes to turn road rage into driving pleasure is well understood facts n good knowledge of traffic rules...I would like people to show more mature attitude towards driving to save people become victims of road fatalities... wondering how?? here is what I suggest everyone on the road to follow for one's own self as well as for the lives of other motorists and pedestrians---
  • Change the Behavioral Patterns: Its really shocking to see people shedding their work and family related stress n anger on their steering wheels. The faces of drivers are quite a sight to study the stress written large on them. I believe that a courteous behavior to fellow drivers with a warm smile can help the mad rush reflect calming effect. I have myself experienced that just showing respectful gestures has practically de-escalated the alarming situations and reduced the risk of physical and verbal assaults that might occur while encountering harassing n difficult co-drivers on road.

Warm Smile to Calm down the tough situation.
  • Formal Driving Training: Most of the times we have seen that the victims of road mishaps are young people... We usually acclaim them to be irresponsible rash drivers. But when deeply introspected, the fact is that youth is not going wrong on roads but they lack the awareness n proper training of safe driving. I strongly recommend every novice driver to undergo formal training at driving schools that give the opportunity to practice the driving etiquettes in a variety of real-life situations & impart technical in-depth tips of know-how about driving safe.

  • Vital Vehicle Check Ups: Don't be a miser to get your vehicle inspected by a certified mechanic at an agency that ensures avoiding serious implications of not listening to your vehicle. I simply mean to say leaving little problems unrepaired can lead to increased damage to your vehicle and ofcourse for your and others' lives. It may pinch you when you pay a hefty amount over the regular vehicle maintenance, but you will realize later that its always better not to pay that amount to your doc when hurt.
Vehicle Maintenance Areas

  • Complete 'NO' to all Distractions: Though cell phones are one of the major causes of distractions, but in reality everything that takes off your mind from main task is distraction. Even with your eyes on road and hands on steering wheel, mental distractions can dangerously affect the driver. My advice is not to eat / drink, operate music system frequently, text/talk on phone and turn your head off the road to talk to friend/family member sitting along for showing off your casual attitude.
No Distractions Please
  • Safety Cushion Driving: Many of us argue of not being at fault when caught in a road accident. But give it a second thought, whether we followed basic safety norms during our so-called 'confident' driving. I have learnt one of the most effective defensive driving technique while sitting on the navigator's seat with my hubby and observing him driving closely i.e. cushioning between vehicles around to avoid collisions. We should maintain 3-seconds safe distance on all sides of our vehicle that will allow us time to react when another driver makes a mistake. One should select a road sign, tree or a building as a fixed point and slowly start counting "one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand." If you reach that same fixed point before you can count to three, then you are driving too close to the car in front of you and you need to slow down a bit.

Cover Yourself Up within Safety Cushion

  • Headlights On 24x7: By driving with your headlights on at all times even on bright sunny days makes your vehicle visible to oncoming traffic and take appropriate action. In India, you would be considered as an amateur (or might be unlearned) driver if you are on-the-go with '24-hour use of regular low-beam headlights', but it can drastically reduce the frequency of crashes.
Headlights On All The Time
  • Avoid Lap Driving: I happen to see people driving car with their little kid in their laps. But as a conscientious parent, I would never think of driving with my child sitting in my lap steering my car for fun sake. Playing with the child during driving, the driver is not only endangering his life but also those of other commuters and the child. So all the parents like me are advised to avoid such practices to eventually trigger off unprecedented damages.
No Lap Driving
There are many more pages to flip from the diary of a petrol-head... but while on the road, keep to the left, follow traffic rules, stay alert & of-course make your presence feel in a positive manner to bid Goodbye to Road Race as well as to Road Rage.

Wishing All Happy & Safe Driving Always!!
