Tempted to Try Oriflame Silk Beauty Range?

By now you might have noticed my fixation for Oriflame products. Infact many people (readers and otherwise too) have thought me of as their brand consultant who is engaged in selling these products (but I don't) ;) Yes! I confess my fondness for Oriflame and a number of reviews on my blog certainly give this impression.

Without much ado, I've reveal today's product line under the name of Silk Beauty.
All Silk Beauty products contain softening Silk Proteins and Orchid Flower extracts that offer hydrating formulations in pleasurable textures to gently cleanse, deodorise and soften your skin while offering an alluring and sensuous fragrance.

Under the Silk Beauty range, you get 5 products that range from bathing essentials like a soap bar and a body wash, plus a moisturizing body lotion, a deodrizing roll-on and a hand cream.
So what appealed me the most in this line is that when you lay your hands on the complete range, you can easily avoid 'mixing up' which is often taken lightly (even I'm guilty of it many a times). By mixing up the products with varied active ingredients, we may run the risk of skin issues like allergy, rashes, patches, breakouts etc. due to clashing ingredients. So whenever possible, it's recommended to use products formulated with same or similar active ingredients to enable those deliver ultimate benefit while working in sync together.

Coming back to my views on these products ;)
Silk Beauty White Glow Soap Bar is a classic bathing bar in white colour in the shape of a droplet. The shape and size of the soap bar makes it easy to hold in your grip. It lathers nice, creamy and rinses the skin clean. It's a beautifully scented soap that has mainly floral accords. The White Mulberry and Cherry Blossom Extracts add up to the moisturizing benefits while making you feel squeaky clean. But to be honest here, I can never give up on my body lotion however gentle my soap  bar is. So have to have a layer of moisturization in any case. Also the melting tendency of the soap isn't too much which is a plus. The soap bar weighs 100 gm and is priced at Rs. 109.
Silk Beauty White Glow Body Wash is for the fans of liquid bodywashes whose relationship with soap bars has come to an end ;) This is a white coloured product and has thin consistency. Make sure to tilt the bottle to certain angle else you may end up taking extra product out. It would have been better to have a pump dispenser pack for having more control.
The bodywash makes washing a joy when your body smells great amidst the shower. The ideal way to use bodywash is to generate luxurious lather using a loofah instead of rubbing it on body with hands. This way you may clean your body tip to toe in just a dollop of liquid, so the 200ml pack surely would last for months. Price: 499/-
Silk Beauty White Glow Body Lotion is a light weight body lotion in white colour and has moderate consistency. It's a flip-open kind of bottle, so make sure to clean the area around the opening to avoid creating a mess. The product is quick to absorb, non-greasy yet well-hydrating formulation.
Though the Silk Body range is aimed for cleaning and nourishing dry skin, but this body lotion would be fine for normal skin as well. It doesn't sit on the top layer of the skin, so doesn't stain your clothes. For my extremely dry skin, I need to reapply the lotion more than once to maintain the smoothness of skin. The lotion leaves behind a lovely floral scent for some time that is soothing.
Price: Rs. 549 for 200 ml.
Silk Beauty White Glow Roll-On is an anti-perspirant deodoriser that neutralizes odor under your arms. It's smooth to apply by rubbing directlly on skin without causing any rashes or inflammation. It's scented sweet n floral and just like all other products in the range feels refreshing. But the scent doesn't bother even to most sensitive nose. The best part is that it has 0% alcohol. The price is pocket friendly too, just Rs. 175.

Silk Beauty White Glow Hand Cream is my most used product and it's already half quantity over. Reason being, I'm in a habit of washing my hands more frequently and then feel uncomfortable dryness. I always keep a hand cream handy in my car, in travel bag, in handbag, and even at my bedside. So you may imagine how addictive I'm to these hand creams. Silk Beauty hand cream, being a tube pack, is quite convenient and travel-friendly. It goes without saying that the sweet fragrance is also a reason for liking it. It has intense moisturizing feel that relieves me from itch. Price: 279 for 75ml.

Which is these product would you be intersted to explore this summer?

Pamper Your Skin With AHA Skin Polishing ft. Aroma Essentials

While your mind is keeping you more than occupied, don't forget to take care of your skin. If you are trapped in similar situation like I'm, don't panic to find your skin misbehaving in this changing weather; simply catch up on your favourite skin care products and indulge into some self-pampering time.

I confess that I've been really careless for my skin since last one month or so, and of course the effect can be seen on different parts of my body. To rescue my skin from more damage, I took a skin exfoliating treatment at home using Aha Sugar Polish sent by Aroma Essentials.
Skin Polishing is an exfoliation treatment much like scrubbing, but the purpose varies. While the scrubs are meant to clean the outer layer of the skin by removing dead skin cells, dirt and oil; the skin polishing targets moisturizing n smoothening the skin by exfoliating the already cleansed skin and bring the radiance out.

The Aha Sugar Polish as the name suggests uses Brown Sugar as the base ingredient which is really gentle on skin. The other ingredients include Tamarind Powder, Jaggery, Lavender Buds Powder, Sugar Powder, Walnut Powder Apricot Oil, Castile Soap. I can confidently say that I've found the most indulgent natural ingredients in the AE products and using these products add to my knowledge too ;)

Aha Sugar Polish is a thick, brown colored, abrasive product with heavenly fragrance. The product is to be used during the shower on the wet skin, left on skin for 10 minutes and then rub gently before rinsing off.
This grainy mixture of skin-sloughing ingredients instantly rid your skin off dry, flaking skin on rough areas of body like elbow joints and knuckles. But be gentle with your rubbing strokes as the ingredients in the product do not dissolve cent-percent and may leave marks on skin if you are aggressive. There is visible improvement on my back skin after using it twice. A moisturised layer of fresh, clean and smooth skin is all what I wanted and achieved. The only thing I wish is to add some more essential oils in the product for extra dry skin so that a body lotion can be completely skipped post shower. For making my experience more productive, I recreated the sugar polish by adding few drops of sweet almond oil and enjoyed really soft and silky skin packed with little more moisture.
If you are using it on delicate skin of your face, limit the use twice a month only. The sugar polish is suitable to almost all skin types including sensitive skin and doesn't break out. The aroma of the product stays for some time after washing your skin off and the ingredients used in it keep on relaxing and stimulating your senses.

The 100 gm packaging of the sugar polish is priced at Rs 650/-
So next time, when it's the time for a hot shower, don't forget to carry Aha Sugar Polish along and come out with glowing skin.

Gift of Nature for Your Skin from Tattva

You might be knowing the majority of the brands and products that I have featured on my blog in last two years boast of nature based production. I actually feel proud to populate such brand who take care not to harm the environment and ofcourse our skin.

Today my post features an entrepreneurial endevour by Shabia Walia who dared to leave her well-paid job to bring love of nature for us in form of handmade skincare products under the name of "Tattva".

About Tattva:
'Tattva' as the name indicates stands for truth and essence. The company believes in capturing the essence of nature in its products in an honest manner without clouding it with harmful chemicals. All its products are handcrafted, eco friendly and made with ingredients sourced from nature to the best of abilities. The company takes pride in creating products that are cruelty free, natural and free of SLS/SLES & parabens.

My take on the products:
I received three cute little sample packs from the brand including a Rose Honey Face & Body Wash,
Saffron Almond Moisturising Body Lotion and Ginger Lime Extra Conditioning Shampoo.
All three products are priced at Rs. 45 for 25 ml. The products came in light-weight, transparent plastic bottles with flip cap and have labels pasted on it with ingredients details.

The first product I tried immediately was the Saffron Almond Moisturising Body Lotion as it could be applied as and when required. I can vouch for the effective result of Badam Kesar used in making of skin care products. I bet if you use it even for the first time, its sure to give your skin exceptional plump and smooth feel with profound hydration. I am using it on my face also and it has caused me no break outs. The softness of the skin can still be felt as you touch it hours later. Full size pack of the moisturizing lotion can be bought at Rs. 475

Rose Honey Face & Body Wash is a twin-function product that again is suitable for cleansing skin of entire body as well as delicate skin of face. Capable of producing mild foam, it ensures removal of dirt, extra oil and environmental pollutants from skin leaving behind humble fragrance of fresh rose petals. Being a glycerine, aloe vera and honey based product, it won't sweep away desired dampness from skin. The full size pack can be ordered for Rs. 375.

The extra conditioning shampoo in Ginger Lime has been a innovative mix of  ingredients for me that I had not tried earlier. The first thing I noticed after washing my hair with this shampoo was incredible reduction in itching on scalp. Since the shampoo claimed to be extra-conditioning, I decided to skip using a conditioner separately. It didn't weigh down the tresses rather felt soft and easily manageable. I am loving the aroma of camphor with ginger in the shampoo that remains locked in my hair for some time after hair wash and lets the scalp feel freshly cleaned.

These small packaging are really appropriate to design a customized hamper to be gifted to your loved ones for whom you really care. Tattva has multitude of options to pack them beautifully in boxes, baskets and cute sacks.

Hope I gave you a cool gifting idea other than usual ones. Look out for your fav products and share your views how you liked them :)

Multipurpose Pure Almond Oil From Mitti Se

Hello Friends

Today there is a review of a multipurpose product, which doesn't come from beauty care product categories, still guarantees you ultimate results :) I will review Pure Almond Oil from the product range of Mitti Se whose products have been purely nature based.

Product Info:
Pure Almond Oil can be used for skin care, hair care or edible purposes. It nourishes skin deeply, works as a good moisturiser. Massaging a few drops of oil into the scalp gives a healthy gow to hair, makes hair stronger. Good for digestion, can be used as a mild laxative. Safe for infants.
Price: Rs 220 for 50 ml
Shelf life: 3 yrs
Contains: Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, E.
Packaging: The Mitti Se Pure Almond Oil comes in a transparent square plastic bottle. The bottle cap is a flip open kind of cap that helps to easily take required drops of oil from the hole pierced in it. I truly loved the covering on the cap with bio-degradable cloth tied with strings of thread beautifully. It instantly makes you feel connected to nature.
My take on the product:
Before I share my experience on how I used it, let me make a point here to mention that the pure almond oil is different from bitter almond essential oil.
Pure almond oil, as we all know, is one of the best beauty aid for versatile purposes. It can be used as a skin moisturizer, hair nourisher or even for culinary purposes too.
Pure Almond Oil is a mild oil which can be used for massage purposes. I preferably apply it after the shower since it is light and easily absorbed by my dry skin. It is a moderately light greasy lubricant that makes the skin baby soft :) Also this pure almond oil is naturally rich in Vitamins A, B and E that I usually look for in skin care products and that is why it ensures to keep my skin young and supple. I am retaining some of its quantity for upcoming winter season to keep my flaky skin in check.
I also have noticed visible reduction in my dark circle after applying it under my eyes every night for almost two weeks. I leave the oil on the delicate skin overnight after a gentle massage and it really works wonders.
I would recommend a regular massage with pure almond oil to beauties who suffer from chapped lips and to those who want their nails to grow stronger.
Talking about hair care, the almond oil gives optimum result when applied on scalp after shampooing. It helps to restore the natural oil of scalp that gets imbalanced due to harsh shampoos. At times, I use it as a leave-on hair serum by rubbing few drops between my palms and coating entire length of my hair evenly for a nice shine :)
Pure Almond Oil can be added to our salad dressing, baked stuff and in vegetable dips for a healthy intake. Though it is not very flaourful, but has a mild nutty smell so I suggest to use it only when suits your taste or cooking method.
Pure or sweet almond oil is actually magic in a bottle. Encapsulated with multitude of benefits, it is sure to make its place in every household.

Apply gently all over the body, with special attention to severely dry areas, slowly massaging on it. Best used after bathing when your skin is most receptive to hydration.

My take on the product:
The Vegetal body moisturizing lotion claims to be 100% natural formulation derived from bio active extracts of wheat seed and chamomile. Bio Active is the extract of those active ingredients which are isolated from the Ayurvedic herbs that play a vital role in the treatment or healing of your particular ailment.
The pearly white color lotion is of sufficiently thick consistency. The lotion is capable of deeply moisturizing the skin without leaving any sheen behind. It spreads very easily on skin and penetrates deep in no time.
I have noticed that it gives best results when applied to slightly damp skin after shower. The excellent absorption quality of the lotion helps to keep the skin hydrated for longer than expected duration. I found that the dry patches n cracks on my skin go invisible post application.

The lotion has a fresh blend of citrusy n floral mix fragrance that I found delightful. The skin is left lightly scented for quite some time after applying a layer.

10. Maintains pH balance of the skin.

Cons:
I wish there should be some more quantity for this price. But again we need to pay for good quality, so I don't mind the price.

Overall, Vegetal Body Moisturizing Lotion is a non-greasy daily body lotion that delivers deep hydration and replenishes the skin to rediscover the lost radiance. With a unique blend of skin friendly constituents, it is destined for becoming an essential part for your daily skin are regime. I am happy that my skin has found a companion for upcoming winter season.

IHA Honey Moisturizing Dry Skin Bathing Bar Review

Hi Everyone

Here's again a treat for those who can't resist trying natural handmade soaps like me. I have been using many skin care products from the brand IHA and find them all drool worthy. Just like I'm in love with all of them, it’s hard not to buzz about this one too. I would review their Honey Moisturizing Dry Skin Bathing Bar today.
About the Product:
IHA Honey Dry Skin Bathing Bar is a rich creamy Body Wash that cleanses, moisturizes and soothes dry, itchy, sensitive and irritated skin. Its natural actives, moisturizers and emollients like honey, milk, mango and kokum butter provide natural moisture balance to your skin and you emerge from your bath feeling soft well-moisturized and delicately scented with the sweet aroma of Honey and Orange.

Complete Ingredients List:
Each gram contains Madhu (Honey) 50mg., Neem Oil (Azadirachta Indica) 50mg., Grihatkumari Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera) 50mg., Karanja Oil (Pongamia Pinata) 50mg., Mango Butter (Mangifera Indica) 20mg., Kokum Butter (Garcinia Indica) 20mg., Condensed Milk (Cow’s Milk) 20Mg., Orange Peel (Citrus Reticulata) 2.5mg., Glycerol 30mg., Fragrance.
Price: Rs 140
Weight: 125 gms
Shelf Life: 3 yrs
Packaging:
The soap bar comes in cardboard carton with every possible detail on how to use it, what has gone into its formulation, price n quantity etc. The soap bar itself is neatly wrapped in clear sheet and has a label stuck on it with the brand logo and name of variant written along.
My Experience:
Most of us know that honey is used in preparation of many skin care products and it does wonders to retain moisture in the skin. Many of you might be looking for a honey based soap during winter season when the harsh cold weather takes a toll on your skin, but I am the one with such dry skin that I need to be very selective for products that may lock in moisture in my skin. Highly impressed with IHA range of products, I picked this soap with great expectation.
The soap is brown in color with some darker swirls on brown within the soap bar which looks amazingly attractive. I could not actually relate the fragrance to honey and orange exactly, but its a sober blend of other ingredients too. A faint smell remains on skin for some time and then fades away. The soap bar is quite a good portion, so I don't mind cutting it into two halves and saving one piece for later use.
The soap is creamy as you hold it in your hand as well as when you rub it on your wet skin. It doesn't melt excessively, so one bar would last quite long. It lathers much more if you use loofah for rubbing it on skin. The skin feels soft and nourished post bath. I find it too mild to be used for my child also. Since the soap is enriched with various emollients like kokum butter, mango butter, cow's milk etc., I dared to use it on my face also. But I didn't rubbed the soap bar directly on facial skin, rather rubbed it between my palms, quickly applied on face and rinsed it without leaving it on my face for longer. I didn't experience any side effects, breakouts etc.
The soap bar is pH balanced so it doesn't disturb the natural moisture balance of the skin.
Though at times I need to follow up applying a moisturizer to cure dryness of my skin, so I prefer using the Skin Dew Moisturizer from the same brand which has been reviewed here.

Pros:

  • Deeply moisturizes the skin.
  • Doesn't cause itching or stretchy feel.
  • Suited for dry to normal skin as well as sensitive skin.
  • Doesn't melt easily.
  • Smells nice.
  • Excellent ingredients including Kokum butter, mango butter, cow's milk
  • No animal testing.
  • Decent Price.
  • Easy online availability.

Cons:
None.

To sum it up, IHA Honey Moisturizing Dry Skin Bathing Bar is not an expensive buy, but much more than a superfood to come up with skin smoothening results. Including it in your daily bath routine with make your skin feel free from impurities with gentle cleaning.

D Tan Scrub from Aroma Essentials

Hi

I am quite fond of natural home remedies. They have great potential as compared to readymade products and give long lasting benefits. But the problem again is the time to make the right composition of each remedy, because the optimum result can be achieved only when the ingredients are mixed in right proportion.

I was suffering from sun tan on my face and arms, so wanted to get rid of this tough tan and to get glowing and bright skin back using some home remedy. But the ready to use D-Tan scrub from Aroma Essentials came to me at right time and I was spared of prepare one for me t home. So lets read further how it fared for me..

Packaging:
The D-tan scrub is packaged in a simple plastic tub container that is transparent and has a screw lid. The label on the packaging gives information on its salient features. I wish there should be detail description of ingredients, price, qty etc printed on label.
Ingredients:
Orange peel powder, Oats, Rose powder, Lemon peel powder, Papaya, Lentils

Price: Rs 375 for 150 gm
Shelf Life: 6 months.

My Experience:
The D-Tan scrub is a dark brown colored powder. The powder seems quite coarsely ground with some rose petals visible in it.  The scrub has lovely aroma that you may smell as soon as you open the container. In the first glimpse of the product, I had a feeling that the granules seen in the scrub will be too harsh to the skin because it is not a fine-milled powder. But since I had been trusting Aroma Essentials for its careful preparation of products, I could not resist myself using it.
This D-Tan scrub is to be mixed with water to make a moderately thick paste out of it. I applied a thin layer of the paste on my face, neck & arms and left it undisturbed for almost 10 minutes until it got dried. I kept smelling like a fragrant flower till it was on my face and even afterwards.
After 10 mins or so, I washed the scrub with cold water gently scrubbing it off like an ubtan. To my sheer surprise, I found the scrub so soft on skin without causing any rashes or irritation. The D-tan scrub gave my skin instant brightening and lightened the skin tone while exfoliating it. I became its fan in very first application and have been using it regularly on severely tanned areas to cure them. The scrub has actually smoothened my skin to great extent due to its natural ingredients. Though the scrub doesn't dry out the skin, but I applied the moisturizer afterwards.

Where To buy: Aroma Essentials or call 9886497272 to order.

Pros:
Lovely fragrance.
Finest natural ingredients.
Chemical Free.
Gentle granules.
Dermatologically tested.
Exfoliates gently.
Feels smooth on skin.
Effective on tanned skin.
Suitable to all skin types.

Cons:
I wish the ingredient details should be labelled on packaging.

Final Word:
D Tan Scrub from Aroma Essentials is extremely decent formulation to battle sun tanning. It can be safely used even on sensitive skin and won't aggravate any skin issues. The feel of homemade scrub and the goodness of nature-based ingredients make Aroma Essential D Tan Scrub one of the finest choice.
