Care For Acne Prone Skin ft. Herboveda

Anyone whose skin is prone to breakouts feels bothersome because they need to be concious while picking right kind of skin care products formulated specifically to address the concern in hand.

Herboveda sent me their Anti Acne facewash and Acne Clear pack for review last month. But since I'm blessed with clear skin and didn't require any of those, I decided to gift it to my friend who happends to be my colleague as well so that her experience can be used as a tool to share an honest review of the said products.
So this friend of mine is in her late 40s and her face usually gets acne all the year long. I specifically mentioned the age to let you be aware that acne and breakouts is not a concern confined to teenagers.

ANTI ACNE NEEM AND TEA TREE FACEWASH
Neem and Tea Tree face wash is best suited for oily skin. It not only helps to deeply cleanse the skin but also removes excess oils that cause acne and dullness. Neem is an age old remedy for acne & provides soothing and emollient effects making skin healthy and glowing. Rich Tea tree oil gives germicidal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Her Experience:
In the first glimpse, she liked the refreshing green colour of the facewash that is bottled in a see-through dispenser packaging & the shape of pumping nozzle which looks like the beak of a sparrow. Lolz.
The consistency of the product is runny as compared to usual facewashes. But the pump dispenses controlled quantity, so no worries of taking out extra. The product foams enough to clear away all the impurities and doesn't feel overly soapy. There is a mild cooling effect on skin for a few seconds. It's fragrance is really refreshing (I also had liked it personally). You won't just look cleansed off all the extra oil and dirt, but feel rejuvenated after washing your face due to its smell. The facewash that has Neem and Tea Tree as the main ingredients worked for her to control zits to some extent on her cheeks and forehead.
DERMA RENEW ACNE CLEAR PACK
This spot correcting face pack treats pimples and helps control the bacteria that causes breakouts, redness and other skin irritations. It's astringent action dries out pimples and clear up post-acne scars.
Her Experience:
Lets begin with the fragrance of this product. The Derma Renew face mask from Herboveda is an excellent blend of Clove Oil and Numeg, the two popular spices found in every kitchen. The mask smells exactly as of authentic spices and it's like treating the pesky pimples using time-tested home remedies from our grannies treasure. This aroma might bother sensitive noses, but she liked it. The pack is very effective to dry out acne in 2-3 days when you apply it everyday.
My friend also applied the mask on the affected areas on her face ocassionally instead of full face and the mask did its job without causing her irritation.
The 80 ml bottle of facewash costs INR 150 and the face mask costs INR 235 for 50ml. The products can be ordered from brand's website but I don't think these will be available in the markets. In the opinion of my friend, two of these Herboveda products are worth a try and won't cause you any allergies or reactions.

Aroma Essentials Range of Natural Face Washes Review

Hi friends

I got a surprise gift pack on Women's Day from Aroma Essentials that contained number of handmade goodies. I honestly cannot say what I liked the most out of all the stuff. But almost all the products were of my great utility. One reason for it is that the lady behind the venture keeps your requirements in mind and then decides what can help you the best way.
Today I am writing about the range of facewashes I received. Out of many variants that Aroma Essentials offers, I got the ones in Lemongrass, Rose and Orange.
Each of the facewashes came packed in little plastic bottle that are transparent. The bottles have white screw cap with a tiny hole in it to squeeze the facewash out. Also there is a tight inner lid to keep the product safe in the bottle and make the packaging travel friendly.
The pricing for each variant is kept below Rs 100 that can be seen on the label over the cap. The shelf life is 6 months from the date of making.
The facewashes made their first good impression on me when I opened the bottle. The facewashes are actually gel based (or better I should say, this is gel itself) which I really like. The consistency of the facewashes is quite thick like I expected being it a gel, so you need to actually remove the inner lid to take the product out, else its a task to squeeze it.

The Orange facewash is very lively orange in color with orange juice, edible citrus gel in it. It smells very refreshing.
The Lemongrass facewash is infused with lemongrass extract, lemon n lavender essential oils and aloevera gel. I loved its pretty shade of green. I somewhat liked it fragrance lesser than other two.
The Rose facewash, surprisingly doesn't owe natural pinkish red color from the real flower, but is in light brown shade. It is loaded with rose decoction, rose essential oil, ionised gel and also some petals of rose flower in the bottle. Its scent is stronger than other two variants, but is quite pleasing.
Rubbing any of the facewash on your damp skin hardly fetches any foam and feels very light on face which again is a big plus for me as it gets overdrying for my skin. Despite the non-foamy trait, the skin gets instantly cleansed of excess oil, dirt etc as you rinse it off and feels rejuvenates. It doesn't leave any strong scent after few minutes. So will be a great pick for people who prefer light or no fragrances. I feel these facewashes will be loved by normal, combination & oily skin beauties, but if your skin is in drier side like mine, all you need to do is pop on some moisturise afterwards and your skincare routine will be complete to achieve hydrated skin :)
I cleverly used this non-foamy formula as makeup remover by taking little quantity over a cotton pad and swipe over the face followed by some splshes of water over the face & I managed to wipe away everything expected really quickly and effectively.
To sum up, Aroma Essentials facewashes are really gentle daily essentials with natural ingredients for which your skin will thank you.

I got a lovely combo consisting of two variants of their natural face cleansers i.e.
KASHMIRI SAFFRON & NEEM  (priced at Rs. 115 for 50 ml) and
MASHOBRA WILD HONEY, LEMON & ROSE WATER  (priced at Rs. 95 for 50 ml).
If you buy the combo, you will end up saving few bucks because the combo is priced at Rs. 195 here

Packaging:
The facewashes have similar packaging in soft black tube. The only difference is the variant details printed on either sides. The flip open cap on the tube makes it easy to take the product out. Also the tubes are quite light weight and easily portable.
Texture & Smell:
Both the facewashes have soothing fragrance. The Mashobra Wild Honey, Lemon & Rose Water cleanser has a mixed scent with prominent rose fragrance, whereas the Kashmiri Saffron & Neem cleanser has slightly wild scent that gives a kick. The fragrances persists for good hours and makes you feel fresh. I liked both the facewashes from this aspect.

The Mashobra Wild Honey Lemon & Rose Water cleanser is light orange in color and the other one is extremely pale yellow that hardly shows up color on your hand. The liquidity and runny consistency is also same for both the cleansers.
Mashobra Wild Honey Lemon & Rose Water

Kashmiri Saffron & Neem cleanser

Usage Experience:
The Mashobra Wild Honey, Lemon & Rose Water cleanser behaved really gentle on my dry skin. Lemon extract, as a natural astringent gave instant brightening & toning effect to the skin. I had my apprehension of stripping away the moisture from my facial skin that generally happens with me on using lemon juice in some home remedies. But packed with Vitamin C and then loaded with moisturizing honey, a few drops of the cleanser effectively lifted all the dirt and skin impurities in every wash without aggravating skin dryness issue. The rose water in the cleanser greatly contributed towards calming down my irritated skin. My overall experience says that this variant of the face cleanser can fit in the daily skin care regime of every person whatever skin type they have, specially dry skin type.

The Kashmiri Saffron & Neem cleanser is one of the unusual mix of ingredients I tried ever. The claims of skin fairness using Saffron are well known. With high hopes in my heart, I used this cleanser, but didn't expect any overnight change in my skin tone honestly. The deep cleansing of the face wash surely imparted a momentary glow on my face. The infusion of neem in the cleanser helps removing toxins from skin surface and purifies the skin. The cleanser seems suitable for all skin type including sensitive and oily skin.

Summary:
Ayurveda based brand.
Use of pure herbal ingredients.
Gentle cleansing properties.
Cleanse, nourish and replenish moisture.
Travel friendly and easy to use packaging.
No side effects.
Decently priced.

Ayorma Fairness and AntiTan Facewash Review

What would you prefer to begin your day with natural n aromatic cleansing of your face...a usual commercially available product or an ayurvedic preparation with promise of better results? If you choose to pick latter one, I am introducing you to Ayorma, a dominant player in Aromatherapy and Ayurveda based beauty & personal care products industry. The mission of Ayorma is to offer purest and most natural beauty and personal care experiences crafted from Aromatherapy and Ayurveda.

From the versatile product range of Ayorma, my first review talks about their Fairness and AntiTan Facewash ...

Product Info:
Get a tan free, fair & glowing skin with this unique combination, powered by skin whitening globules and natural extracts.

Ingredients:
Licorice or Liquorice: It exhibits skin lightening effects through inhibition of melanin formation. It helps remove sun tan and skin darkening due to over exposure to the sun.

Curcuma or Turmeric: It has the property of imparting natural glow and radiance.

French Lavender Oil: It is imported exclusively from France. It exhibits anti fungal properties, soothes itchy skin, helps to destress the skin against environmental conditions.

Honey:  It is used as a treatment for dry, flaky skin since it possesses moisturizing properties. It makes the skin feel soft and supple.

Geranium Oil: It controls and balances the oil production of skin and helps keep it supple. It also imparts a natural glow to the skin.

Orange Peel oil: This oil is a great natural source of Vitamin C, a well known anti oxidant and anti aging ingredient. It promotes the production of collagen, which helps the skin to look firmer and smoother.
Price n Qty : Rs 199 for 50 ml. Can be ordered here.
Shelf Life: 2 yrs

Packaging:
Bright color theme of green and golden is something I liked about Ayorma products. The facewash comes in a soft plastic tube. The white colored text is easily readable on green background color.
My take on the product:
The facewash is a golden brown thick liquid. The first thing you notice holding the facewash pack in your hand is its tranquilizing aroma. You may even smell it without opening the tube cap. I was expecting it to be very strong for my senses. But it actually didn't irritate me upon application, rather felt quite soothing.
The facewash is moderately lathery. Its not harsh being crafted from many natural ingredients. The beautiful green beads in the facewash not only make it good to look at, but offer a mild exfoliating effect to skin. Unlike, many facewashes which I have used earlier, its not causing skin imbalance by disturbing the natural oil production by the skin.
Consistent use of the facewash promotes suppleness of skin to last longer and contributes to enjoy tan-free skin. Using the facewash regularly prevents different skin issues like itchiness etc. and imparts smoother n glowing skin. The facewash is suitable to all skin types and can be used by men n women both, so worth giving it a try.
Pros:
Light weight packing.
Tranquilizing aroma.
Suits all skin types.
Gentle cleanser.
Mild exfoliating beads.
Available in stores at selected cities and being sold online.
Crafted from Spa Oils.

Cons:
A bit expensive.
