Facial Skin Care Swaps for Cold Weather

When you see your skin looking dull and dry during winters, it's time to swap your usual beauty regimen with the one that should be treating your flaking, chapped skin more lovingly. Here in Chandigarh, the nights have become really cold and I get up to see foggy streets in my locality that is in the outskirts of the city. Not just the surroundings, my skin is showing changes too. So I've added Oriflame's Love Nature products in my cosmetic kitty whose key ingredient is Wild Rose. I chose this because this product range is suited for Dry skin type.
Facial skin gets most affected due to colder winds and lowering temperature. So a rich formula is needed to save your from havoc being created.

The first task is to use a basic, everyday cleanser that sweeps makeup, oil, and grime from your face without causing irritation. Love Nature 2-in-1 Cleanser Wild Rose (priced at INR 349 for 150 ml) is a 2-in-1 facial cleanser formulated with nourishing Wild Rose Oil extract to effectively cleanse skin and remove make-up without over drying. It leaving skin nourished, supple and soft due to its super gentle emollients. It's recommended to apply it in the morning and evening with cotton pad, gently wipe over face removing any excess product. The best part is that the light and smooth formula doesn't leave an oily film on my skin and quickly melts when introduced to skin.
I quenched the dryness of my winter skin with Love Nature Crème Mask Wild Rose (priced at INR 399 for 50gm). This moisturising creme mask formulated with wild rose oil extracts softens and soothes my dry skin with its intense hydration for dehydrated skin. I use it twice a week on cleansed skin. It's a rinse off formula so just needs a few plashes of water to wash off when dried. The skin looks noticeably healthy but not stripped.
Despite being dry skinned, I hate greasy formulas that add an undesirable sheen to my skin. Love Nature Day Cream Wild Rose (INR 379 for 50 ml) prevents that oily film on my skin when applied. It is easy to absorb yet rich in nutrition. It contains natural Wild Rose extract to bring suppleness and protection to the skin, leaves it velvety soft and hydrated. It is super light and an expert in adding in-depth moisturization and natural rosy glow. I need to apply it twice a day but it reduces flaking and peeling on my skin due to winter dryness.
If you managed to earn that glow, it's advised to maintain it using a quality night cream. Before hitting the bed, I apply Love Nature Night Cream Wild Rose (INR 399 for 50 ml) that deeply penetrates within the skin and the rich extracts of exotic ingredients.replenish the dead skin cells during the night time. The natural nutrients offer youthful appeal to my skin as I get up next morning to find my skin happy.
All the products in this line have mild n sweet fragrance that pleases you instantly. The colour, texture, consistency of the products have been kept almost alike. The packaging size is also travel-friendly.
Needless to say, usage of Oriflame's Love Nature Wild Rose products has shown significant changes to my skin and I suggest everyone to grace your skin with a hydration booster dose like this.

Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask Review

Green Tea has gained popularity among beauty enthusiasts in past few years due to its beauty benefits. I love drinking green tea as well as try using it in some home remedies for direct consumption and topical application.

And when there are busy days to try my hand on home remedies, then I turn towards adorable cosmetic products that use green tea as an active ingredient. Such a product that I bought recently is this Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask.
Brand's take on the product:
Get instantly brighter, healthier-looking skin. A soft, creamy formula that applies nicely and is also easy to wash off, without drying your face. Gentle exfoliation of glycolic acid removes dead cells and impurities, while antioxidant benefit of organic green tea extracts helps control acne (pimples) in the long run. A must-have product for oily and combination skin types.
Ingredients:
Kaolin & Bentonite: Naturally occurring clays, known to be effective for absorbing excess oil, exfoliating, cleansing and refreshing the skin. Some things are best left natural.

Green Tea extracts: Concentrated source of polyphenols and other antioxidants, to stop the acne formation cycle in its tracks. Oxidation of skin-produced sebum is a key step in acne formation – something we are looking to stop here.

Glycolic acid: Sweeps away skin debris and prepares the skin for self-renewal. Our goodness chemists know exactly what’s required to do the job without overdoing it.
Packaging:
The green tea face mask comes in a glass tub pack which has an inner disc to avoid spillage and a screw cap over the top. The glass packaging is not a big one, but heavier as compared to plastic tube packaging. But on the other hand, it reduces the wastage of product that is left in the towards the end of tube packaging. It might be slightly tough to carry it around, but would fit a bigger travel/makeup kit.
You may order this product here at Rs 475 for a 60 gm pack.

I appreciate that its a premixed mask, because I have many face masks lying unused in my collection just because I usually don't like to mix powdered/granular masks and make a paste out of them. The mask has cream-like consistency which is not extremely thick.
The color of mask reminds of homemade fuller-earth mask. The mask is quite convenient and smooth to spread. To apply the mask, one may use fingers or a mask brush depending on ease of use. It has mild fragrance that lasts until the mask stays on face.
The mask gives subtle tingling sensation on face that subsidizes after a minute or so. Its quite normal with clay-based masks, so nothing to panic about. The clay masks are more effective for oily and acne prone skin type as it is meant to absorb excess skin oil, but I tried it despite having dry skin because Kaolin clay used in the mask is very gentle and detoxifies the skin by removing impurities plus Green Tea is rich in antioxidants.

The mask has a tendency to dry out sooner than expected, so to keep it moist and obtain optimum benefits of Kaolin clay, I spritz some plain water or rose water on drying mask. After having the mask on my face for 10 mins, I rinse it off before it reaches the crumbly stage. After the rinsing, the skin looks youthful and deeply cleansed, but little drier. Being a dry-skinned person, I apply Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer to fulfill need of required moisture.

Tip: I also experimented adding 2-3 drops of cold pressed almond oil,in the mask while applying on my skin and it did not make the skin stretchy then. You may try using olive oil, avocado oil to avoid feeling dryness after using a clay mask.

Hope you find the review useful.

Derma Green Skin whitening Cream Review

Hi

Few months ago, I reviewed a wonderful product from a beauty brand Herbal India (read the review here) and liked its effect on my skin. So I was more than interested to give some other products a chance from their product line. I was sent Derma Green Skin whitening Cream which is another variant of skin whitening creams that Herbal India sells. I have been using it for many days and today will share my review on it.

Product Claims: Derma Green Cream helps to get back your youthful skin with glowing healthy unimaginable glow.
  • Protects from sun burn, tanning and reduces the overall production of Melanin.
  • Tightens the skin and delays the formation of wrinkles.
  • No black and white heads and helps to soften the Zits.
  • No pimple and acne, reduces the inflammation and clear the pores.
  • No undereye dark circles and it effectively clears the skin.
  • No blemishes and pigmentation.
  • No scars and it evens the skin tone.
Packaging: Derma Green Plus Herbal Whitening Cream is packaged in a maroon plastic tub pack with a sticker on its top lid having the product name on it. The plastic jar has a tight screw cap on the top and an inner white disc cap to keep the content safe in the packing.
Ingredients, Price and Qty:
The ingredients and price details are printed at the bottom of the packaging. The cream is infused with the goodness of natural ingredients like Emu Oil, Almond Oil, Aloe Vera, Lemon Grass, Red Sandal, Turmeric, Honey, Tulsi. The 30 gms content in the pack is sold at a price of Rs.2500 and shelf life of the pack is 24 months.
My take on the product:
The Derma Green is quite a thick textured cream in light mint color. The cream smells very nice mix of floral and spicy notes that actually is uplifting and will not cause irritation to sensitive noses. I personally liked it too.

The brand instructs to apply this cream as an face mask that has to be left on skin overnight to bring out the optimal outcome. Following the instructions, I applied the cream on my face as well as the neck area which should always be considered as the extended facial area while applying any beauty enhancement products. This cream needs extra efforts to spread evenly on skin, might be due to its thick texture. The next morning, I washed the cream off with a mild cleanser. The instant effect of the cream is the soft skin with some youthful glow. As I followed the similar regimen for almost a month, I noticed considerable improvement in my skin tone. I don't claim that the whitening of skin means drastic change in complexion in few applications, but the long term effects would surely be worth noticing.
The cream claims to reduce scar marks, acne and zits. But I am a victim of none of these, so cannot comment on the effectiveness of cream on these issues. Yes, the cream has lightened the tanning on my forehead and I am expecting the forehead skin to evenly mix with other parts of face with prolonged usage of this cream.

Pros:
  • Natural ingredients.
  • Suits all skin types.
  • Causes no burning or irritation.
  • Smells Nice.
  • Lightens the skin tone.
  • Reduced the skin tanning.
  • Safe and travel friendly packing.
Cons:
  • Not Easily Available
  • Quite Expensive.

Final Word:
Derma Green Skin Whitening Cream is a herbal formulation to treat the skin by reducing dark spots and pigmentation, and leaving a radiant, even skin tone without any harmful effects.

Derma Green Plus Herbal Whitening Cream Review

Hi
Today's post is focusing on a promising product to cure pigmented facial spots. Herbal India Products sent me their bestseller product Derma Green Plus Herbal Whitening Cream that is crafted to give visible whitening of the skin in just 21 days with regular usage.

About the Brand:
Herbal India Products is high-class beauty and wellness products distributor in India and abroad whose focus is to provide a broad range of high quality products comprising of health supplements and skin care products made from the pure and natural ingredients available. The company promises to deliver their products in any part of the world in tactful packaging in shortest possible time span.

About the Product:
Derma Green Plus Herbal Whitening Cream is packaged in a black crystal tub pack with a bright red sticker on its top lid having the product name on it.
The ingredients and price details are printed at the bottom of the packaging. The cream is infused with the goodness of natural ingredients like Emu Oil, Almond Oil, Aloe, Lemon Grass, Sandal, Turmeric, Honey, Mulberry and RoseHips. The 30 gms content in the pack is sold at a price of Rs.3000 and shelf life of each pack is 24 months during which the cream can be safely used.
How did I like the product:
The Derma Green Plus impressed me with its floral fragrance and minty green color in the first glimpse. The cream is of the consistency as thick as a face pack. Even if you flip the pack upside down by mistake, rest assure that the content won't spill off :)
The brand recommends to apply the Derma Green Plus Herbal Whitening Cream as an overnight leave-on face mask on the face. So I applied the cream all over my face as well as neck area, which is exposed to all kinds of environmental issues most of the time. It took me a bit of effort to spread the thick cream on my skin so that it properly penetrates the skin.
The next morning I swiped off the cream from my face using wet cotton. After following the similar practice for almost 20 days now, the cream has imparted a visible glow to my skin. I can notice the lightening of the sun damaged patches from my forehead, though the skin is not yet evenly merged with the rest of facial tone. I am expecting better outcome with continuous use.

The cream claims to delay ageing to a great extent due to its beneficial herbal ingredients. I have great faith in home remedies, and when a product is prepared keeping in mind the effectiveness of its constituents, its a blessing in disguise for busy bees like me. Just a layer of Derma Green Plus on my face every night can improve blood circulation and thereby render youthful skin.

In the ingredients list, I noticed an interesting skincare element i.e Emu Oil which is said to repair the skin by reducing wrinkles, scar marks, skin irritation, cuts/scrapes arising out of different reasons. Thankfully I have no scar marks on my face, so I am unable to comment on its effectiveness on the same, but I am very happy with the efficacy of Derma Green Plus that has treated pigmentation and brightened my overall complexion.
Pros:
  1. Natural Ingredients.
  2. Lovely Fragrance.
  3. Effective on blemish n pigmentation.
  4. Suitable for all skin types.
  5. Causes no side effects.
  6. Impressive packing with inner lid.
  7. Whitens and brightens the complexion.
Cons:
  1. Expensive (might be due to its pure ingredients.
Overall Opinion:
Derma Green Plus Herbal Whitening Cream fulfills its commitment by providing multiple benefits to facial skin. It penetrates deep into the skin and relieves from flaky, patchy, dehydrated skin. People looking for safe product to cure pigmentation must go for Derma Green Plus.
