CTM Routine For Beautiful Skin

CTM - short for cleansing, toning, and moisturising sounds so prevalent amongst beauty enthusiasts. Despite knowing how significantly this 10 minute routine may affect your skin's health, many of us do not execute it religiously. Even when they do, the expected results aren't achieved due to wrong selection of products. So in today's post I'll stress upon picking the products that are formulated for specific skin type and do not imbalance your skin's condition. Because the comfort level and elasticity of the skin greatly relies upon the products which we use.

Broadly, we may classify skin types in following categories- Normal, Dry, Oily, Combination, Sensitive. There are barely any skincare products which will go well for all skin types, but yes they may fit your skin regimen during certain time of year.

I fall in the category of dry skin type that is characterized by roughness, itchiness, almost invisible pores and lesser elasticity. So it's a task for me to help my skin maintain moisture using mild products. My current favourite for everyday CTM routine is Oriflame Love Nature Oat range made for Dry Skin. Oats are believed to moisturize the dry skin cells and rejuvenate them due to healthy fats found in it. It has anti-inflammatory properties and also forms a protective layer on the skin to prevent loss of moisture. This range includes three products for essential CTM steps -
Cleansing:
A cleanser shouldn't be aggressive for the skin that leaves the skin irritated, stretchy or overdry. 'Nourishing' cleansers seem to be great to prevent dry skin and don't interfere with skin's natural. moisture. The frequency of cleansing for dry skin is recommended for once a day preferrably before the bed time so that all traces of dirt, makeup, oilyness can be washed away.
Love Nature Oat Milky Foam Cleanser is a mild cleanser that is something different from usual soapy facewashes. It resembles a shampoo like milky texture and generates light foam which efficiently clears away grime and impurities with no residue left and without being too stripping. It has light scent that can be felt while washing off your face and then disappears soon. The skin feels no stinging after its use.
Price: Rs. 379 for 150 ml.
Ingredients: (refer image below)
Toning:
I would begin by asserting that toners are real skin refreshers. I truly love to use a toner after cleansing the surface of my skin. A toner is not to be taken carelessly by dry skinned people. Toner reduces enlarged pores and provides a suitable base layer for the skincare products that you may apply afterwards.
Love Nature Oat Face Toner is a gentle liquid that can be applied using a cotton ball or by patting directly on skin with your palms. I feel comfortable using cotton balls personally.
Ingredients: (refer image below)

The toner picks up any makeup or debris that are left behind after cleansing and further soothes my itchy skin so well. It's a well-formulated product that gives my tired skin a nice tightening effect.
Price: Rs. 379 for 150ml
Moisturizing:
Most people would like a light moisturizer during hot summer days to hydrate their facial skin. But I still choose to massage my parched skin with an easy-to-absorb cream.
Love Nature Nourishing Oat Face Cream is my companion these days. It is really light yet gives intense moisturization instantly. The small tub packaging is so easy to carry around so that I may reapply it as per requirement. It has faint fragrance that neither appeals me much, nor bothers me at all.
It's has moderately thick consistency that won't feel greasy on application. The cream gives even toned and soft skin by reducing dullness. It's absolutely compatible to my skin type.
Price: Rs. 399 for 50gm.
Have you used any of these products? Which is your preferred product at this moment for an effective CTM? Do let us know in comments.

Ethicare Remedies Hydromax CT Cream Review

Good Morning!!

I am sharing my views on Ethicare Remedies Hydromax CT creams that is formulated for maximum hydrating feel with high concentration of occlusive agents that lock in moisture for longer time.

Key IngredientsCoal Tar, Salicylic Acid.

Coal Tar - Helps slow down the rapid growth of skin cells and restore the skin's appearance and also reduces the inflammation, itching and scaling of psoriasis.
Salicylic Acid - Acts as a scale lifter, helping to soften and remove psoriasis scales. Specially prepared base considering Psoriasis, Eczema & Ichthyosis.
Other Ingredients:
Aqua, petroleum Jelly, Glycerine, Bee Wax, Avocado Oil Kokum Butter, Shea Butter, Perfume.

Price: Rs 199
Qty: 100 gm.
Shelf Life: 24 months.

Packaging: The product comes in a usual plastic jar of white color. The labels on the pack give details about all ingredients, price qty etc. The jar has tight screw cap. A protection seal on the neck of newly purchased jar makes the packaging spill proof.

My take on the product:
The Hydromax CT is a light brown colored cream. In the first look of the cream, I could relate its color to be the outcome of a gentle mix of cocoa butter and coal tar as its ingredients. The consistency of the cream is absolutely appropriate for the purpose of richness. Its neither runny not overly thick that takes extra effort to scoop out of the jar. Talking about the fragrance, I actually found the smell not very pleasant. It bears a peculiar medicinal sort of fragrance that is real turn-off factor for me. Because such smell itches my nose.
Still I managed to apply the cream on my body, reason being I had heard at length about benefits of coal tar in skin care products and was keen to use a product based on coal tar. You might be knowing from my previous posts that I use body butters, lotions, creams etc all the year long because my skin needs intense moisturization. So I can't dare to ignore my skin care regimen.

Anyways, in the first application, the cream felt as greasy as I am using petroleum jelly. But as it got absorbed into skin in a minute or so, it felt extremely moisturizing on my dry skin. It left the top surface of skin quite smooth and imparted a healthy glow to it.

Its staying power is too good. The lubrication on skin remains effective for almost good 5-6 hours, that is quite impressive.

I strongly believe that the regular usage of Hydromax CT can help me get rid of flaky skin during harsh winter season too since it is enriched with emulsifiers too.

I can't talk of its effectiveness on Psoriasis, Eczema or other skin diseases as I have no such issues.

Pros:

  • Good staying capability.
  • Doesn't leave any greasy residue on skin.
  • Gives intense hydration to skin.
  • Smooth texture.
  • Decent packaging.
  • Reasonably priced.
  • Widely available online.
  • Suitable to all skin types. (oily skin people might not like it during summers)

Cons:
I wish the fragrance could have been something pleasant.

Hydromax CT is a promising product that keeps its promise of long lasting hydration. If you may set aside the fragrance issue, it is worth spending every penny.

Derma Green Skin whitening Cream Review

Hi

Few months ago, I reviewed a wonderful product from a beauty brand Herbal India (read the review here) and liked its effect on my skin. So I was more than interested to give some other products a chance from their product line. I was sent Derma Green Skin whitening Cream which is another variant of skin whitening creams that Herbal India sells. I have been using it for many days and today will share my review on it.

Product Claims: Derma Green Cream helps to get back your youthful skin with glowing healthy unimaginable glow.
  • Protects from sun burn, tanning and reduces the overall production of Melanin.
  • Tightens the skin and delays the formation of wrinkles.
  • No black and white heads and helps to soften the Zits.
  • No pimple and acne, reduces the inflammation and clear the pores.
  • No undereye dark circles and it effectively clears the skin.
  • No blemishes and pigmentation.
  • No scars and it evens the skin tone.
Packaging: Derma Green Plus Herbal Whitening Cream is packaged in a maroon plastic tub pack with a sticker on its top lid having the product name on it. The plastic jar has a tight screw cap on the top and an inner white disc cap to keep the content safe in the packing.
Ingredients, Price and Qty:
The ingredients and price details are printed at the bottom of the packaging. The cream is infused with the goodness of natural ingredients like Emu Oil, Almond Oil, Aloe Vera, Lemon Grass, Red Sandal, Turmeric, Honey, Tulsi. The 30 gms content in the pack is sold at a price of Rs.2500 and shelf life of the pack is 24 months.
My take on the product:
The Derma Green is quite a thick textured cream in light mint color. The cream smells very nice mix of floral and spicy notes that actually is uplifting and will not cause irritation to sensitive noses. I personally liked it too.

The brand instructs to apply this cream as an face mask that has to be left on skin overnight to bring out the optimal outcome. Following the instructions, I applied the cream on my face as well as the neck area which should always be considered as the extended facial area while applying any beauty enhancement products. This cream needs extra efforts to spread evenly on skin, might be due to its thick texture. The next morning, I washed the cream off with a mild cleanser. The instant effect of the cream is the soft skin with some youthful glow. As I followed the similar regimen for almost a month, I noticed considerable improvement in my skin tone. I don't claim that the whitening of skin means drastic change in complexion in few applications, but the long term effects would surely be worth noticing.
The cream claims to reduce scar marks, acne and zits. But I am a victim of none of these, so cannot comment on the effectiveness of cream on these issues. Yes, the cream has lightened the tanning on my forehead and I am expecting the forehead skin to evenly mix with other parts of face with prolonged usage of this cream.

Pros:
  • Natural ingredients.
  • Suits all skin types.
  • Causes no burning or irritation.
  • Smells Nice.
  • Lightens the skin tone.
  • Reduced the skin tanning.
  • Safe and travel friendly packing.
Cons:
  • Not Easily Available
  • Quite Expensive.

Final Word:
Derma Green Skin Whitening Cream is a herbal formulation to treat the skin by reducing dark spots and pigmentation, and leaving a radiant, even skin tone without any harmful effects.

Eeshha Herbal Hydrating Cold Cream Review

Team Eeshha Herbal has sent me a huge pack of skin care goodies long back and I am in the process of testing them on myself and my family member since many days. I have already reviewed two of their lovely products in past few days i.e. a kajal pencil and a soap.

Today I am going to share my views on Eeshha Herbal Hydrating Cold Cream. Many people apply cold creams only during winter season as they find it greasy on their skin. But the people whose skin needs extra moisture due to dryness, they may find this cold cream quite effective even in summer days.

Product Claims:
This rich cream contains aloe vera, jojoba butter, cocoa and Kokum butter which are excellent moisturizing and nourishing ingredients that penetrate into skin texture for healing dead and chapped skin. It is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants. Sun protection factor 15 shields your skin from harmful UV rays. Suitable for all kinds of skin.

Usage Instructions:
Apply after taking shower, towel dry and apply this cream generously all over the parts, with gentle massage till it get completely absorbed. Use it regularly everyday for better results.

Eeshha Herbal Hydrating Cold Cream is a small jar of 50 gm content at a price of Rs 135. The shelf life is 3 yrs from the date of manufacturing. The product packaging is light colored cardboard box bearing all the product details.
Ingredients: Cocoa Butter, Kokum Butter, Rose water Distillate, Liquorice Extract, Aloevera Extract, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, ,Silicon Oil, Titanium dioxide, OMC, Vitamin B12. Vitamin E.

My take on the product:
As I first applied the Eeshha Herbal Hydrating Cold Cream on my face, the first thing that impressed me was the texture of the cream which so easily got penetrated in my skin. The skin felt instant hydration and deep moisture. Undoubtedly, its because of the best moisturizing ingredients that give long lasting benefit.

The consistency is creamy thick as we expect from any cream. And I just needed to take very less quantity to cover whole face.

The cream has almost nil fragrance or I should say it does not pleases me like the naturally scented products. It may be a plus point to those who look for non-aromatic skin care products. But to me a mild refreshing smell would be an added positive, if provided.

This cold cream is not only a facial cream but can also be used on any part of your body specially the elbows, neck, back and arms. The drier parts of the body feel like drinking enough moisture and the cream proves its revitalizing capacity to the fullest on these areas.

The natural ingredients actually saved me from bothering about its harsh effects on skin at all. No itching or no burning. So its a cost-effective product for making your skin soft, supple and radiant without looking greasy on the top.

Pros:
  • Wonderful ingredients.
  • Easy to absorb.
  • Can be applied on any body part.
  • Pocket friendly price.
  • Easily available.
  • No side effects
  • Makes skin really hydrated.
Cons:
Actually Nothing!! But I just long for some nice fragrance that lingers on for at least few minutes after shower for a fresh feel.

Hope you liked the review.
