Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask Review

Green Tea has gained popularity among beauty enthusiasts in past few years due to its beauty benefits. I love drinking green tea as well as try using it in some home remedies for direct consumption and topical application.

And when there are busy days to try my hand on home remedies, then I turn towards adorable cosmetic products that use green tea as an active ingredient. Such a product that I bought recently is this Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask.
Brand's take on the product:
Get instantly brighter, healthier-looking skin. A soft, creamy formula that applies nicely and is also easy to wash off, without drying your face. Gentle exfoliation of glycolic acid removes dead cells and impurities, while antioxidant benefit of organic green tea extracts helps control acne (pimples) in the long run. A must-have product for oily and combination skin types.
Ingredients:
Kaolin & Bentonite: Naturally occurring clays, known to be effective for absorbing excess oil, exfoliating, cleansing and refreshing the skin. Some things are best left natural.

Green Tea extracts: Concentrated source of polyphenols and other antioxidants, to stop the acne formation cycle in its tracks. Oxidation of skin-produced sebum is a key step in acne formation – something we are looking to stop here.

Glycolic acid: Sweeps away skin debris and prepares the skin for self-renewal. Our goodness chemists know exactly what’s required to do the job without overdoing it.
Packaging:
The green tea face mask comes in a glass tub pack which has an inner disc to avoid spillage and a screw cap over the top. The glass packaging is not a big one, but heavier as compared to plastic tube packaging. But on the other hand, it reduces the wastage of product that is left in the towards the end of tube packaging. It might be slightly tough to carry it around, but would fit a bigger travel/makeup kit.
You may order this product here at Rs 475 for a 60 gm pack.

I appreciate that its a premixed mask, because I have many face masks lying unused in my collection just because I usually don't like to mix powdered/granular masks and make a paste out of them. The mask has cream-like consistency which is not extremely thick.
The color of mask reminds of homemade fuller-earth mask. The mask is quite convenient and smooth to spread. To apply the mask, one may use fingers or a mask brush depending on ease of use. It has mild fragrance that lasts until the mask stays on face.
The mask gives subtle tingling sensation on face that subsidizes after a minute or so. Its quite normal with clay-based masks, so nothing to panic about. The clay masks are more effective for oily and acne prone skin type as it is meant to absorb excess skin oil, but I tried it despite having dry skin because Kaolin clay used in the mask is very gentle and detoxifies the skin by removing impurities plus Green Tea is rich in antioxidants.

The mask has a tendency to dry out sooner than expected, so to keep it moist and obtain optimum benefits of Kaolin clay, I spritz some plain water or rose water on drying mask. After having the mask on my face for 10 mins, I rinse it off before it reaches the crumbly stage. After the rinsing, the skin looks youthful and deeply cleansed, but little drier. Being a dry-skinned person, I apply Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer to fulfill need of required moisture.

Tip: I also experimented adding 2-3 drops of cold pressed almond oil,in the mask while applying on my skin and it did not make the skin stretchy then. You may try using olive oil, avocado oil to avoid feeling dryness after using a clay mask.

Hope you find the review useful.

Cure Puffy Eyes With Aroma Essentials Eye Pillows

Many cosmetic issues keep bothering us every now and then. One of my concern is the puffy eye bags and dark circles. The dark circle under my eyes are quite adamant and are staying for many years now. So they are not gonna go very easily, I know. I keep trying different quality products to prevent them getting any worse. But the puffiness was actually not an issue with me ever, which has started showing up occasionally. I guess its a signal to me that I'm tired, stressed out, and not living at optimal health. Few days back, I suffered from really bad eye allergy; due to which I could barely open my eyes properly and I still had to attend office and push myself do all the jobs assigned like usual days. But what got affected was my blogging routine. I hardly wrote any posts, became irregular being online and it makes me feel really low.  :(

After facing so much of trouble, I've been instructed to include food items rich in vitamins, especially A, C and E in my meals to help maintain clear, moist under eye skin and reduce eye puffiness. Also I'm sleeping enough in the afternoon after I reach home from office that actually was not a part of my routine ever.. Things are getting slightly better now.

Other than these practices, I had been experimenting with eye packs to fight itchy eyes, when I used Eye Pillows sent by Aroma Essentials.
These Eye Pillows are like li'l bags filled with Oats and Green Tea. As per instructions, I boiled the eye pillows in water for 2-3 minutes.
On boiling, the contents inside the bags will be partially visible and it will change the color of water in which you are boiling them.
Take the eye pillows out of water and refrigerate it to let it cool. Now, squeeze the excess water (if any) and place these over eyes for 20 minutes while laying down.
I used the eye pillows in the night and felt great relaxation in the irritated eyes. The eye pillows containing green tea is enriched with anti-oxidants, tannins and caffeine. So using these eye pillows helps to reduce water in the tissues around the eyes and controls puffiness.
One set of Aroma Essentials Eye Pillows can be used for a week. After every use, we can store them in refrigerator. If they get dried out in the fridge when you are ready to use it next time, just run them under tap water for a few minutes and use them as earlier. In my first experience, one of the eye pillow got torn after three uses and I had to throw it. But next time, it continued being fine with multiple usages. I wish the size of the eye pillows can be slightly bigger, so that they don't slip from eyes. The issue of my eyebags is almost resolved now and I'm hoping to have brighter eyes after prolonged use of these handmade, purely safe eye pillows :)
If you have any remedies or suggestions for curing my dark circles, I would appreciate if you share and help me. TIA

Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer Review

Hello Everyone

I am feeling too happy to find a mattifying moisturizer that in excitement I forgot to mention which name is associated with this lovely product. I'm talking about the Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer from Plum.

Plum, a well established name in natural skin care has really finest taste and in-depth knowledge to formulate skin-safe products. Today I am reviewing their Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer.

Product Claims:
Silicone-free, matte-finish moisturizer with hand-picked non-comedogenic ingredients. Daily pleasant after-feel, non-shiny finish and acne combat.

This is just the light moisturizer that oily skin types had been waiting for. Multi-dimensional care that includes: controlled hydration, non-shiny matte finish, acne (pimples) combat and a fresh, clear appearance.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerine, Fragrance, FDA Approved Colours, Glycerin, Glycolic Acid, PEG 400, Phenoxyethanol, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine.

The Key ingredients:
Green tea extract: The anti-oxidants in green tea apply the brakes on oxidation reactions that lead up to bacterial proliferation that in turn cause acne.
Glycolic acid: Preventing acne is better than treating it. Glycolic acid plays an important role in skin renewal and prevents build-up of skin debris that can cause acne.
How to use?
Gently apply required quantity on face and neck once or twice a day, after cleansing and toning face. Avoid using foundation or compact that can clog pores.

Price: RS. 450 for 50 ml. (Buy here on Plum website or from Amazon or Flipkart)

Packaging:
The Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer comes in a sleek, easy-to-grip pump dispenser bottle pack in white color. The formation of the bottle's top nozzle makes really comfortable to use because unlike many other products whose nozzle is pierced right on the top need to be bent in slanted position to eject the liquid, but Plum has stretched the nozzle slightly outward so that we may dispense the moisturizer in straight right position itself. Not to forget, the transparent plastic cap on the bottle neck shuts quite tightly and makes the packaging spill proof.
My take on the product:
Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is pale green color liquid of moderate consistency. Its not watery thin, but not very thick. Only one pump of the moisturize is enough to cover whole facial area and similar quantity can be applied on neck as well. It is very light on skin and spreads easily on gentle rubbing only. As it gets dried on your skin after slight rubbing, you will not notice any hint of greasy or oily sheen left behind. And that is the reason they call it mattifying. The oily skinned beauties will find it a bliss for themselves.
The product boasts of being non-comedogenic which in simple words means that it contains no ingredients that may cause you blackheads. Regular usage of green tea mattifying moisturizer is a long-term promise of preventing acne plus it will effectively cures the redness and irritation of the skin caused due to acne.
The skin feels absolutely supple post application like the moisturizer deeply sinks into skin. I am loving it soothing fragrance. The pleasant scent stays on for quite some time, but you need to sniff it closely. Why to expect from a moisturizer to behave like a deodorant !! (just kidding)
Being a green tea lover and knowing about its antioxidants characteristics, I believe that by the time I end up finishing the whole content in the pack, I'll definitely experience a positive difference in both the feel and appearance of my skin with a clearer, more radiant complexion without any side effects.

Pros:
Light on skin.
Matte finish moisturizer.
Best suitable for oily skin, but goes well with all skin types.
Fights against the acne due to green tea extract.
100% silicone-free.
None of the ingredients blocks the pores.

Expensive.

Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is one of the coolest instantly hydrating facial moisturizer packed with nourishing organic nutrients which are not harsh to skin. I strongly recommend to incorporate Plum's GTMM into your skin maintenance routine to possibly narrow down skin issues.
